2023 has come and gone, and 2024 is here. As we embark on a new year, we are excited to introduce our first collection of 2024 – a carefully crafted Winter Collection designed to embrace the upsettingly cold, yet sometimes beautiful, charm of a Canadian winter. This year, we're trying something different: sharing a behind the scenes look at the making of each collection. We'll try to offer a glimpse into the inspiration, design process, and exciting highlights of our collections this year.
Embracing Winter Hues:
Our design journey began with a celebration of winter's natural palette – envisioning the crisp blues, soothing greys, and timeless blacks that define the Canadian winter landscape. Every colour in the Winter Collection reflects the cool neutrals that are naturally present in our snowy climate.
What to Wear:
Equestrians have varying experiences when it comes to winter. For some, winter means packing up, getting on a plane and spending several weeks or months in a sunny southern state choice. For others, it means frozen water buckets, painful dismounts and layering more horse blankets than you thought was possible. These are very different experiences, and equestrians also experience everything in between. So how do we design a collection that makes sense for both?
We start with the basics. We knew we needed sweaters, accessories, and anything we could come up with to keep you warm. We started by bringing back 3 sweater styles from previous years, made some adjustments, and finalized the colours. Then we added our newest accessory for 2024, a new 3-season hat to keep your ears cozy. Finally, we spent a long time deciding on a new colour for a third vest colour to add to our Outerwear staples.
Warmth and Style:
There is one glaringly obvious and essential component to a Winter Collection: it's got to keep you warm. This winter, we're bringing back the Equestrian Established Crewneck and Hoodie, each in a new colour. The winter-time favourite, Rather Be In #WellyWorld will also make an appearance, as well as a brand new colour of the CL Packable Down Vest. Perfect for layering, these versatile pieces seamlessly transition from the stables to the streets, ensuring you stay effortlessly chic no matter where your day takes you. We're keeping heads warm with the all new CL Patch Beanie, which you may see in even more colours later this year.
